We miss Eagles in Qatar – Fans

By Daily Sports Nigeria on December 5, 2022

Despite the incredible upsets, amazing displays and 89 goals scored so far in 48 group matches, some fans feel the ongoing Qatar 2022 World Cup has been incomplete without the Super Eagles.

Nigeria were eliminated on the away-goal in the African final playoffs for the Mundial after they were held 1-2 on aggregate by perennial rivals Ghana last March.

But despite Morocco and Senegal qualifying for the last 16 in Qatar and Tunisia and Cameroon recording shock wins against champions France and favourites Brazil respectively, the fans lamented the Eagles absence.

A trending video online showed some of the European fans asking for the whereabouts of the Eagles in Qatar.

“We are here in Qatar 2022 for the World Cup, but where are the Super Eagles? We can’t see them,” one of the fans said.

Another fan said his father grew up in Ibadan and is dreaming of visiting Nigeria.

“Sending love to you guys, my father grew up in Ibadan and I will love to visit Nigeria one day.”

The Eagles have qualified for six of the last seven World Cups since making their debut in the USA in 1994, but also missed out on the 2006 edition held in Germany.
