Osimhen still has room for improvement – Italian pundit

By Daily Sports Nigeria on November 14, 2022

Former Italian footballer Ciro Ferrara spoke on DAZN during the Napoli -Udinese post-match and hinted that Nigeria international Victor Osimhem needed to do more in his scoring instincts.

Osimhen scored his ninth league goal of the campaign to help Napoli claim a 3-2 win over Udinese on Saturday.

“Osimhen has grown from a technical point of view with Spalletti, but he still has significant room for improvement. The header is the trademark, on the first goal; he freed himself very well on a nice cross from Elmas.

“He played well and scored a wonderful and decisive goal once again.”

Napoli saw off a late comeback from Udinese to seal an 11th consecutive Serie A victory, the first time they have done so in a single season.

Goals from Oshimhen, Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas had the hosts in full control but two goals in the final 11 minutes, from Ilija Nestorovski and Lazar Samardzic, led to a nervy finish for Luciano Spalletti’s side.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, who scored nine goals, is the only striker in Europe with more headed goals than Osimhen. The Super Eagles star has scored eight headers this season.

The win put Napoli 11 points clear with 41 points from 15 matches at the top of the Italian Serie A table.

Udinese are eighth with 24 points from 15 matches after failing to win in the seventh straight match.
