Everton manager Frank Lampard has said he hopes the club agrees soon on a new contract for Alex Iwobi.
Iwobi, 26, current contract with Everton is up by June 2024.
The Super Eagles star has flourished under Lampard in a central midfield position to be one of the leading players with assists this season.
“He’s one of our important players and we want to keep him,” Lampard said.
“He wants to stay, Everton is a great club with good history and fan base and we hope this (new contract) is done quickly.”
Iwobi, who has won 58 caps with Nigeria, joined Everton from childhood club Arsenal in August 2019 for over 30 Million Euros.
His transfer market value is put at 25 Million Euros.
He has made 112 appearances, scored eight goals and made 13 assists for the Liverpool club.
