Conte Keen On Signing Osimhen

By Daily Sports Nigeria on October 23, 2022

Antonio Conte has told Tottenham Hotspur’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici that he wants to sign Victor Osimhen, La Repubblica’s transfer market reporter Enrico De Lellis has claimed.

The north London club are reportedly interested in Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martínez but Conte has requested that Tottenham Hotspur should make a move for Osimhen, not the Argentina international.

Over the last one year, the Nigeria international has been linked with a move to the Premier League but the stumbling block to a deal is his asking price, with Napoli valuing him in the region of 100 million euros.

De Lellis has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur face competition from Manchester United and Bayern Munich for the signature of the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner.

“In addition to his salary, he will have a budget of around €200m. There are rumours about Lautaro, but the real name that Conte told Paratici is Osimhen,” De Lellis said in an interview with Calciomercato.

“The Napoli striker is also very popular with Bayern Munich and Manchester United, although the Germans closely follow Sesko as well. Their policy is to carry out operations under 100 million, consequently Osimhen is a secondary option.”

Blessed with pace and physicality in addition to the aerial ability he possesses, Osimhen has most of the attributes needed to play in the Premier League.

“The Nigerian is the classic Premier League footballer and it turns out to be the real goal of Tottenham. But it will be necessary to understand his will: he is demanding for the future and not only from an economic point of view,” De Lellis added.

Osimhen has 32 goals in seventy appearances in all competitions for Napoli.
