Japan U23 defeated South Africa 4-1 in an international friendly played on Wednesday afternoon.

Shoya Nakajima’s brace and goals from Shinya Yajima and Takuma Asano silenced Owen da Gama's side at the Matsumotodaira Park Stadium.

Japan will be hoping to win an Olympic football medal for the first time since Mexico 1968 when the event starts in July.

The continue their build up with a game against Brazil on July 30 before taking on the Dream Team VI on August 4 in Manaus.
