Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has hailed Leicester City’s thrashing of Taiwo Awoniyi and Emmanuel Dennis Nottingham Forest as a revenge mission accomplished.
Leicester City halted a horrible run of six straight defeats in the English Premier League with a crushing 4-0 victory over Taiwo Awoniyi’s Nottingham Forest.
Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi featured for only the first half of the encounter, while Kelechi Iheanacho did not make it off the substitutes bench.
But both Super Eagles stars featured from start to finish when Nottingham sent Leicester out of the FA Cup in February.
Iheanacho scored the Foxes’ only goal as the Reds romped to a 4-1 win over the then-defending champions at the City Ground.
The hurt from that embarrassing defeat to Nottingham Forest, a side in the Championship at the time, tugged at the heart of Iheanacho until Monday night.
And the former Manchester City ace was pleased to witness a Leicester victory over Nottingham.
“We got our revenge last night,” Iheanacho tweeted.
Iheanacho played 26 Premier League games last season for Leicester City, scored four goals, and provided five assists.
The 26-year-old has made six appearances this term – only one start – and has managed just one goal.
