WBA rates Usyk-Joshua rematch most awaited world heavyweight title fight

By Daily Sports Nigeria on August 16, 2022

Boxing has been waiting for the rematch between Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk and Britain’s Anthony Joshua, who will return to the ring this Saturday with the WBA Super Heavyweight Championship, WBO belt and IBF belt on the line, reports wbaboxing.com.

The Jeddah Superdome, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will be the venue that will host the second part of an interesting rivalry that has raised expectations.

The time has finally come to face each other again. In October of last year, Usyk won the belts from Joshua in a great performance in which he imposed his style and technique to the physical capacity and power of the former champion.

The second fight has many elements that could make a difference and that’s why a good atmosphere has been created around it. Joshua decided to change his trainer and has worked together with Robert Garcia to correct mistakes and secure a victory.

He already showed against Andy Ruiz that he has the ability to bounce back and he intends to do the same this time too.

However, Usyk is a fighter who does not settle and will almost certainly be thinking about countering any strategy. He can do a lot of things in the ring and adapt to the situation, so he will not be easy prey to anything new his opponent tries to put in place.

In addition, Usyk wants to bring joy to Ukrainian people in the midst of the Russian invasion.

Usyk has 19 wins, no losses and 13 knockouts, while Joshua has 24 wins, two losses and 22 knockouts.
