Don’t Hesitate To Sign For Man United –Sherwood Tells Eriksen

By Daily Sports Nigeria on July 15, 2022

Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood has advised Christian Eriksen to take up the opportunity of playing for Manchester United.

In a chat with 888 Sport, Sherwood claims that signing players with similar values, backgrounds and with similar hard-working attitudes will help get the Red Devils back on track.

“He’s got a big decision to make. I think if Man United are there in your lifetime, you need to go there and explore it, especially at his age. I think he will be a major upgrade on what they’ve got in midfield areas. He’s one of the best professionals I’ve ever worked with and one of the fittest boys ever.

“Incredible character coming back from what he’s had to deal with and he still wants to play and Man United, no matter how bad the situation is at the moment is still one of the biggest stages in world football. I think it’s a no brainer and an absolutely great fit on a free transfer.”

“They [the signings] will [help] because they all come from that Ajax heart. You look at the Dutch players they’ve been linked with up to now or have touched Dutch football, he [Ten Hag] knows exactly how he wants to play which is a good thing.

“The players at Man Utd will be under no illusions over what they need to do, like Frenkie de Jong for instance knows exactly what his demands are. I think Christian is such an intelligent player.

“He will know what the manager wants and what they need is not only the manager and the coaching staff, they need players within the dressing room to send the message out to the rest of the group that ‘this is how we work and this is what we’ve got to continue doing’. That’s the only way they’re going to get better.

“Don’t only buy quality players, Man Utd have done that over the years. I believe they’ve got good players that haven’t produced. They haven’t produced for a reason because they play for themselves rather than for the team.”
