Super Falcons will file out today in a make-or-mar encounter against Burundi in the last preliminary game of Group C and Coach Randy Waldrum is exuding with confidence that the team is battle ready.
Speaking ahead of the encounter at a press conference on Saturday, Coach Waldrum said that he is confident that the girls are ready to give their all in ensuring victory is assured at the end of the game.
“We have come over our loss against South Africa in our first game and returned with a victory in our second game against Bostwana. Our game against Burundi will take the same approach we had in our second game. We’re not taking them for granted because we need another win.”
Burundi are currently bottom of Group C with no points having lost two games while Nigeria stands currently second on the table with 3 points . South Africa is top on the table with 6 points having won two games.
Media officer of the Super Falcons, Oluchi Tobe-Chukwu told Sunday SunSport in a telephone interview that the Falcons are set to play. “Everyone in the team is positive about the game for tomorrow. We’ve put the fact that Asisat Oshoala is out of the tournament and have to adapt without her.”
