Exclusive: 2023 AFCONQ: Eagles Showed Hunger, Determination For Goals Against Sao Tome –Babangida

By Daily Sports Nigeria on June 13, 2022

Former Nigerian winger, Tijani Babangida has hailed the brilliant performance of the Super Eagles in their 10-0 victory over Sao Tome in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Victor Osimhen netted four goals before the likes of Dennis Emmanuel, Ademola Lookman, Terem Moffi (scored brace), Simon Moses and Etebo completed the routing of Sao Tome at the Stade Adrar in Agadir.

The victory is Nigeria’s biggest win in the Nations Cup qualifiers, and Sao Tome and Principe’s second-highest defeat.

Reacting to the win, Babangida in a chat with Completesports.com stated that the Super Eagles showed class, hunger and determination for goals against their opponent.

“This is a game I expected the Super Eagles to win convincingly and they did just that against Sao Tome. I am really happy with the result and I hope the players will keep the momentum going till the last game of the qualifiers.

“Indeed the players showed class, hunger and determination, something that has been missing from the team for a very long time.”
