Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema admits he tried to copy former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo’s game before deciding to go his own way.
Benzema has since successfully replaced the Manchester United striker as Real’s key player.
“I have always enjoyed watching Ronaldo,” he said.
“I tried to focus on Cristiano’s movements, dribbling, passing, handling the ball. I analysed everything in Ronaldo, but it’s impossible to do the same.”
Benzema scored 44 goals and provided 15 assists in 46 games for Real Madrid last season.
