Leon Balogun is in buoyant mood after Rangers beat Bundesliga club RB Leipzig to secure a place in the final of the UEFA Europa League.
Balogun and his teammates defeated Leipzig 3-1 on the night, securing their place in the final 3-2 on aggregate.
James Tavernier and Glen Kamara turned the tie on its head and put the Gers in front on aggregate at the break.
Christopher Nkunku then pulled one back for Leipzig in the 71st minute, but the man of the hour was John Lundstram, who tapped in from close range 10 minutes later to send Rangers to their first European final since 2008.
Balogun was introduced in the second half, with his international teammates Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo.
“Right now I’m not really able to tell you exactly what it means to me. It means a lot for the club after everything they’ve been through over the years,”Balogun was quoted by Rangers Review.
“Last year we had a good European run and we said at the start of the season we wanted to do it again. It’s just unbelievable.
“For me, personally, it’s something I’m really proud of. I still have to fathom it. Football can be crazy sometimes.
“I’ve had difficult periods in my career. I didn’t have a club for a certain period of time, bounced back, made it back to the Bundesliga.
“After four-and-a-half years at Brighton I didn’t kick my own backside, went to Wigan on loan, then to come here and win the league and now to go to the Europa League final. Obviously what happened at the start of the week [Jimmy Bell’s passing] it makes it that bit more special.
“I’ll let it sink in for a few days. I’m incredibly happy and proud for every Ranger because it’s what we deserve as a club.”
Rangers will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the final at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in Seville on May 18, after the Bundesliga outfit beat West Ham United 3-1 on aggregate.
