The curtain for the 3rd 2022 edition of JOF Nigeria Limited U-13 football tournament was drawn on Sunday, May 1, with Bullets Babes and Paul Boys playing in the final stage at the Campos Mini Stadium Lagos Island.
The colourful final which was graced by high profile personalities saw Bullet Babes defeat their Paul Boys counterparts via penalties after full time barren draw.
It would be recalled that earlier in that day, Loko Babes won the third place at the same venue. The highly explosive finals as displayed by the young boys showed the potentials inherent in Nigerian grassroots football if well and continuous harnessed. The capacity crowd cheered and clapped in admiration for the good display of football.
The match officials Oyeyiola, centre referee was assisted by first assistant referee, Adewkunle Oluwatobi and second assistant referee Oginni Daniel. These young people displayed great sense of responsibility, capacity and foresight which saw them perfectly had the game under their firm control.
This year’s JOF U-13 3rd Grassroots Football Championship lived up to its billings as the rules were strictly applied and by all the participating sides who fully complied comprehensively.
The organizers of the championship Lagos State Grassroots Soccer Association were on ground to ensure that the rules of the was applied in the finals and it ensured that everything went on smoothly.

Dr. Olusegun Olugboyegun in his address reassured the teeming football supporters that thronged the arena that his organization would continue to encourage this category of football competition as her contribution towards catching them young for the steady progress and growth of Nigerian football from the grassroots game scene.
He impressively thumbed up the level of the championship which he pointed out has grown steadily giving a glimmer of hope that after all, if well harnessed and closely followed too would definitely lead us see light at the end of the tunnel if all hands would be truly on deck to play strictly to the rules by ensuring that ages of these boys are tightly applied in order to get the desired results at the end of the day.
Olugboyegun further reassured the teeming fans that his organization as law abiding corporate citizen would not fail in its bid and goal to encourage the youths to get through to achieve their set goals legally. The CEO also acknowledged that the boys have truly shown great capacity at their levels that they can joggle this round leather object to the full admiration of the cheering fans and urge them not to relent on their oars as continuous practice would make perfection.
He said emphatically that JOF Nigeria Limited derives joy in seeing our children become stars of the future in this globally acceptable game hence the organization has taken it upon itself to extend her scares resources to this productive part time in time like these in the country and by God’s grace would continue to honour its part of the bargain.
He however, urged the parents to encourage their children and wards to take their education pursuits painstakingly and also give their best possible on their part time like the game of football which has become money spinning global venture not allowing each to take upper hand in the lives of the boys as both can be pursued parallels if well planned for the betterment of the future of our children, he advised.
It would be recalled that the salt company extended the sum of N950, 000 in this year’s Championship where the overall champion of the tournament went home with N350, 000 with a giant trophy and medals while the runner up got N250, 000, leaving the third and fourth placed teams with N200, 000 and N150, 000 respectively, with several other prizes and goods across board.
