Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph has commended the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on the appointment of Finidi George as an assistant coach of the Super Eagles.
Finidi was a member of the Super Eagles that won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia,, where Nigeria defeated Zambia 2-1 in the final.
Finidi’s, who is the current head coach of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Enyimba, was approved for the Eagles job on Thursday by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The former Nigerian winger will work with the yet to announce Super Eagles gaffer as the second assistant coach while erstwhile head coach of the team Salsu Yusuf will act as the first assistant coach.
He also believed that his inclusion will add more value to the Super Eagles and that the players in Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) may have the chance to be part of the team.
“It is a pleasant news to know that Finidi’s George has been appointed by the NFF as Super Eagles assistant coach,” the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist told Completesports.com.
“His experience will come handy for the team knowing fully that he has done a good job with Enyimba in the NPFL.
“I am happy with his appointment and I wish him success on his new job with the senior national team.”
