Champions Senegal! At last the Lions from Terenga finally booked their name into the golden table of African countries that have won the most prestigious football summit in the continent.

It was a final game to behold. It lived up to its billing as Cup final. The fire works from both sides especially more desperate Lions from the Terenga. They were all over the place attacking and defending frantically all in their bid to see if it can change of history which later smiled on them after much sweat.

The Lions from the Terenga in Senegal showed their readiness to win as their efforts yielded to a penalty which star player Mane lost. It became dig-dug as the clock ticked away. The tension soaked finals brought more zeal and beauty in African football.

The penalty shoot out in the 33rd edition of the AFCON showed the steady growth and hunger in most African countries to come to the stage for crowning.

Senegal defeat of Egypt 4-2 on penalties would remain significant in the minds of the French speaking West African country for a long time to come. Senegalese were so determined for this final and Egypt thought that it will carry the day through penalties because of the agility of their goalkeeper in penalties which failed woeful in the finals.
