Christian Eriksen On Verge Of Stunning Brentford

By Daily Sports on January 31, 2022

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN is on the verge of an emotional return to football with Brentford after passing all the necessary medical checks needed to resume his career.

Eriksen is set to join Brentford on a short-term deal until the end of the season, with the option to extend for a further year, in what is a major coup for the Bees.

The 29-year-old has passed the rigorous medical examinations needed to be given the green light to go sign for the club, according to Sky Sports.

He is now set to officially put put pen-to-paper with Thomas Frank's side after being cleared to play by a sports cardiologist, the Premier League and the FA, in what is heart-warming news for the world of football.

Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020, and was subsequently fitted with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD).

But Serie A rules meant Eriksen was not allowed to play for former club Inter with the device attached.

As a result his contract with the club was terminated by mutual consent in December.

He stated his intentions to carry on playing though, and is eyeing a spot in Denmark's squad for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

And the chance to play regular football with Brentford gives him the perfect springboard to make an emotional return to the national side.

He will join up with international midfield colleagues Christian Norgaard and Mathias Jensen at Brentford.

The playmaker has been keeping fit by training with Swiss third-tier side FC Chiasso, and also with former side Ajax in the last week.

Eriksen will become Brentford's second signing of the winter window, following in the footsteps of fellow Dane Jonas Lossl, who joined on loan from FC Midtjylland. (UK Sun)
