House of Reps orcders Giwa to let NFF run in peace

By Daily Sports on June 13, 2016

Nigeria’s House of Representatives has ordered Chris Giwa and his band to put a stop to their parade and allow Nigeria football to be administered in peace.

At an executive session inside the Green Chamber on Wednesday, Nigeria’s Parliament considered the report of its Sports Committee and approved the following recommendations:

 1)   That the Minister of Youth and Sports Development and the Federal Government of Nigeria shall continue to recognize, work and support the NFF under Mr. Amaju Pinnick’s Presidency.

 2)   That the Inspector-General of Police and other Security Agencies shall give full security protection to the NFF under the presidency of Mr. Amaju Pinnick.

 3)   That both the Federal Government and the security operatives shall call Mr. Chris Giwa and his group to order to ensure that Nigeria football does not continue to suffer and or incur the wrath of FIFA.

 4)   That the Inspector-General of Police and all other security agencies shall ensure that whosoever creates problem in NFF or Nigeria’s football be apprehended and prosecuted accordingly.

The Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung had, at several fora (including a session with the House Committee on Sports), stated clearly that there was no court order sacking the Amaju Pinnick Board or asking Giwa to take over the NFF.

Giwa and members of his group have willfully and severally misinterpreted court orders, shunned genuine peacemaking efforts and caused distractions in Nigeria football.
