Liverpool's Andrew Robertson To Miss Chelsea Game Ater Leeds Postponement

By Daily Sports on December 23, 2021

Liverpool will be without left-back Andrew Robertson for their Premier League match against Chelsea on January 2 after their Boxing Day meeting with Leeds United was called off due to coronavirus.

Robertson is currently serving a three-match ban following his red card against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

The first match of his ban was Wednesday night's EFL Cup quarter-final win over Leicester City, while he was also due to miss games against Leeds on December 26 and Leicester again on December 28.

However, the postponement of the Boxing Day clash with Leeds - announced on Thursday due to Leeds not having enough players to fulfil the fixture - means that Robertson's ban will now extend to the trip to Stamford Bridge on January 2.

Liverpool could also be without Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita for that match, unless they succeed in their attempts to delay their departures for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Jurgen Klopp's side currently sit second in the Premier League table, three points behind leaders Manchester City but three ahead of fellow title hopefuls Chelsea. (Sports Mole)
