Association Of Youth Club Owners Benin City Congratulates Eguavoen On Super Eagles Appointment

The Association of Youth Clubs Owners, Benin City, has expressed delight over the appointment of Austin Eguavoen as Super Eagles Interim Coach following the sacking of Franco-German Gernot Rohr.

Chairman of the association Douglas Idahosa affirmed that Eguavoen has the right playing experience, coaching know-how and man-management skills to take the Super Eagles to glory in the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled for Cameroon.

“We the Benin City Youth Club Owners are very proud to have one who hails from Benin City at the helm of the Super Eagles technical crew. We say a big congratulations to Austin Eguavoen. He is one with a rich experience as a player and coach and has a fine ability to manage players. The Super Eagles will be better off with him as their coach,” Idahosa said on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

On his part, Secretary of the Benin City Youth Club Owners Association Ken Ugbodaga expressed optimism that Eguavoen would keep an eye on next year’s Benin City Youth League season.

“I’m very happy that a great Benin City icon Eguavoen is the Chief Coach of the Super Eagles. Hopefully this will spur Benin City youth players to work harder knowing that they have a son of the soil in an important position in Nigerian football who could give them the needed lift in Nigerian football,” Ugbodagha said.
