Ronaldo’s Agent ‘Recommends’ Lopetegui As Next Man Utd Manager

By Daily Sports on November 23, 2021

Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui has allegedly been recommended for the vacant managerial position at Manchester United.

The Premier League giants announced on Sunday that they had parted ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, adding that they intend to bring in a fresh face on an interim basis.

However, according to The Athletic, agent Jorge Mendes has suggested to United that they appoint Lopetegui as the Norwegian’s replacement.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s representative is said to have made contact with United officials a couple of weeks ago with regards to the senior role in the dugout.

Lopetegui, who has won 73 of his 125 matches in charge of Sevilla, allegedly possesses an ‘attainable release clause’ in his contract.

Michael Carrick has been placed in caretaker charge for the foreseeable future, starting with the Champions League fixture in Villarreal on Tuesday night. (Sports Mole)
