Salah, Van Dijk score as Liverpool beat Villa

Liverpool have beaten Aston Villa 3-1 in their Premier League clash on Monday at the latter’s home in Villa Park.

Both Liverpool and Villa retained their places on the league table in sixth and 12th place, with 25 points and 18 points respectively.

Liverpool inflicted Unai Emery’s first loss as the Aston Villa boss, as Egyptian forward, Mohammed Salah found the back of the net in the first five minutes of the game and Virgil Van Dijk doubling the scoreline minutes before half time in the 37th minute.

Just after half-time, Villa’s Ollie Watkins snatched a clean sheet from Liverpool in the 59th minute giving his side their only goal, however, Liverpool’s substitute Stefan Bajectic punished Villa further by adding one more goal, 81′, to make the score line three in favour of Liverpool.

Salah was the man of he match with his one goal, one assist and two shots on target, in a stellar performance.

Although, Villa won a free kick through their goal scorer Watkins in added time, 93rd minute, the failed to convert the opportunity into a goal, leaving with their first loss under former Arsenal and Villareal boss, Emery.
