Osimhen Scores As Dante Beat Sokoto United

By Daily Sports on November 2, 2021

Substitute Austin Osimhen was the hero as Dante FC beat Sokoto United 1-0 in the ongoing Unity Pre-season Tournament at the Premier Academy Stadium in Lugbe, Abuja on Monday.

Sokoto United dominated early exchanges but failed to utilise their chances but Dante, led by former Golden Eaglets scouting coach, Bunmi Haruna, ringed some changes in the second half and it paid off as they earned a hard-fought win.

Osimhen came on from the bench and made their opponents pay for their recklessness in front of goal when he connected a cross from James Chukwuemeka in the second half to score the only goal of the keenly-contested encounter from close range.

Nigerian second-tier side Sokoto United lost their first game of the pre-season tournament 3-1 to Simonben FC and are scheduled to play Plateau United of Jos on Tuesday (today) at the Area 3 playground. (The PUNCH)
