Nigeria international Sone Aluko has been released by Hull City days after the club gained promotion for the 2016/17 Premier League season.
Aluko only featured for the first of the Tigers’ play-offs away at Derby County but has since not been included in Steve Bruce’s line up for the return leg and final.
In an official statement released on the club’s website, vice chairman Ehab Allam thanked the Nigerian for his time at the club.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank both Sone Aluko and Ryan Taylor for their efforts and wish them both well for their future careers,” Allam told the club’s website.
The 27-year-old striker made 108 appearances for the club and netted 15 goals in all four years of his stay at the KCOM Stadium but only managed to score three times in 31 appearances for Bruce’s side this past season.
However, his fellow countrymen Moses Odubajo still remains with the club while Chuba Akpom has returned to his mother club, Arsenal where he was loaned from for the 2015/16 season. (Goal.com)
