Arteta Happy After 4-0 Friendly Defeat Of Brentford

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was happy with their 4-0 friendly win against Brentford yesterday.

Ben White and Gabriel started in a three-man central defence, and both came through unscathed after recent illness and injury problems respectively. The latter also was on the scoresheet, lashing home when a clearance fell to him just inside the area, to break the deadlock early in the second half.

But it was Cedric who stole the show late on, scoring a well-taken brace to add some gloss to a valuable work-out for Mikel Arteta's side. Alexandre Lacazette was also on the scoresheet.

Arteta said, “Yes we had the possibility to play Brentford again and we had quite a lot of players who needed some minutes, some of them coming back from injuries.

“So it was a good test and a good work-out.”

On Ben White and Gabriel featuring, he added: “Yeah, really good. We don’t have any big injuries as well, they have the minutes, we could work on some things, so it was a good idea to play the game.” (Tribal Football)
