Barcelona Prepare To Sack Umtiti

By Daily sports on August 18, 2021

Barcelona are prepared to SACK defender Samuel Umtiti in the coming days.

Barca have made Umtiti available this summer and he has fielded several offers, but for the moment he remains a Blaugrana player.

The Catalans are desperate to clear the defender’s wages off the books and Sport says they’re prepared to take the drastic action of sacking the Frenchman.

Barca have already gone through the process with Matheus Fernandes and are ready to do the same to Umtiti unless he soon finds himself a new club.

Management had agreed to give Umtiti the preseason to prove himself to Ronald Koeman. It was decided if the defender failed to win over the coach he would accept a departure.

However, Barca now believe Umtiti has gone back on his word after Koeman declared this week that he wasn’t in his season plans. As such they're prepared to unilaterally terminate his contract in the coming days. (Tribal Football)
