Dope Test Failure In 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games: The Shame Of Nigeria

By Daily sports on August 2, 2021

This columnist took up the mess in sports and her supervising ministry over looting and divisions in some national sports federations. Athletics Federation of Nigeria was one of the black spots this page highlighted where Sunday Dare, Sports Minister, helped in no smaller measure to propel. Head or tail, the doomsday is already here. The questions on the lips of objective Nigerians have been who will rescue Nigeria currently on the brink of total collapse.

Nigeria has no shame again both locally and internationally. At the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in Japan, out of 18 athletes that went through doping, 10 of them were Nigerians. What an international disgrace yet there is a supervising Minister and a purported Athletics Federation of Nigeria President.

Things are not coordinated at all. But to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its propaganda machinery have seen absolutely nothing in these glaring failures that are no longer hidden. One wonders when these things would end.

The truth remains that President Buhari has sharply divided this country into pieces. Whether these hawks in APC admit it or not, the country is no longer at ease. Things have gone haywire in all facets. The pretence and shadow chasing this President and his APC bigots have pulled this country down and Nigerians are hungry to the fullest. The deliberate economic hardship introduced by Buhari government has near snapped life off ordinary Nigerians life the writer.

Many corrupt practices and sundry are openly in public galore yet the shameless officials of this failed government would readily come out openly to put a lie on the obvious. This has been a bane of the helpless and downtrodden citizens that have been left in the dust.

Many, including yours sincerely, saw all these coming and let me reveal that the worst is yet to come as there is no solution to it by this already failed government that has done use nepotism more as if that is what the country needed most to survive and compete vividly among the comity of nations that think more about the betterment of their citizenry.

Sadly, what has been uppermost in Muhammadu Buhari’s and his Fulani bigots have been how to bring Ndigbo on her knees which nobody in Nigeria can achieve this because this section of the country are special people God has been working with and foremost specially made and brought to salvage Nigeria but like prophets that are not recognised in their domain, Ndigbo have been moving on strongly without being in strategic government positions since this anarchist, a symbol of divisive and tribal-oriented die-hard Fulani man Muhammadu Buhari’s serial election failure was aided to power in 2015 with agreement with his sponsors and major supporters to hand over power unhindered to a particular strongman from the southwest geo-political zone which will make or mar this conspiracy coffin hurried nailed to push Goodluck Jonathan off power in 2015.

The elites, political analysts, and other commentators are keenly following and watching the pendulum’s direction.

Nigeria is in deep trouble in all facets which pretence and arms twisting will never solution or cover. They are in the public domain locally and internationally. Buhari and his co-travelers have woefully failed this country and nothing absolutely nothing would save Nigeria except total swept out of this lame-duck government of deceits. Buhari is hell-bent on concentrating on how he will deal with Ndigbo and nobody has told him that it is one of his deliberate missions not only impossible but one section of the country that has come to stay strongly which no army in the world can conquer. He has been wasting his and has failed to channel his energy if any to gainful past time in a country he has shamelessly led into deep bottomless tunnels.

He could not implement even a minor programme he told Nigerians he would run up to 2015 elections rather many problems have been thrown up. Let us step this down here because this is one government that is deaf and dumb.

The shame in faraway Tokyo Japan where the 2020 Olympic Games is ongoing where ten out of 18 athletes that were doped are Nigerians. True in this part of the World nothing shocks any longer. What is shame in other climes are celebrated in Nigeria? In short, Nigeria has brought to herself the notorious name and place where absurdity thrives and is celebrated as science inventions were discovered or made.

Ten athletes of Nigerian origin are caught on drugs used to enhance their performance in their various sports in the Games. What else would one say about the absurd? Yet there is a Minister in charge of that Ministry and there are songs of preparations for athletes and coaches guiding them and all that.

However one must concede that there is little the coaches can do to control athletes and drugs usage but there has been no measure put in place as internal mechanisms to that effect. The story coming out from team Nigeria at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympic Game camp remains not only nasty, embarrassing, and totally unacceptable. What else can the country offer in a country where only bad news takes the center stage yet Buhari and his APC invaders keep the nation on her edge?

This columnist is never scandalised when the news broke because there is no leadership in sports. Supposedly Sports Minister Sunday Dare has left a big void in the subsector and sadly created these pitfalls unsuspecting public is witnessing and the international embarrassment in faraway Tokyo has brought to the fore the obvious lapses inherent in Sports Ministry leadership and the national federations that exist purely on paper since Dare assumed duty.

I recall vividly the opposition this columnist mounted on the makeshift preparations for the Olympics knowing fully well those countries that grab or haul medals in the Games starts the preparation for the next Games immediately after. It’s never a fire brigade kind of especially this current one. You can see how they have started passing bulk. To worsen the whole scenario the Sports Minister was never on top of his game including his foot soldiers.

Everyone was doing his/her thing with no coordination in all facets. Everyone was a busy fight for what comes into their pockets thereby turning deaf ears and blind eyes on the obvious. If it was when there was an atom of integrity left in this hopeless country, Nigeria's heads would have started rolling because of the unspeakable of the whole 10 athletes testing positive on banned drugs.

Before the team left the country for the Games, this columnist emphatically said that there is no medal hope for the country because there were no preparations and proper supervision from the Sports Ministry to the officials of the national federations. Again, Nigeria cannot readily boast of top-rated athletes that returned in good time and so the possibility of fifth-rated athletes competing against such first ones. Nigeria sadly went to the Games in this century to make up the number of countries that participated in 2020 Games.

The unfortunate aspect of the whole nonsense is that millions of Dollars again went down the drains in tie like this in Nigeria where the citizenry are hungry, insecurity occasioned by the terror unleashed every minute by Fulani herders, killings by those the Presidency has branded bandits and they are above the law. All their actions and inactions have gone to the blind side of Buhari who no doubt is their patron.

These anomalies’ that have become the lot of the country since Buhari and APC got to power continues to leave a soured taste in the mouth and the resultant consequences’ are the kind of situation in the country today where every foot is put wrong. For instance, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games has brought out that the country is bleeding. It further showed Nigeria is a lawless society. Unheard of where 10 athletes ones swoop. What shame. The country has long lost its image but what Buhari and his Fulani kinsmen are busy chasing his shadow insisting to ripe where they did not sow. Planning in advance to rig 2023 election via none transmission of results via electronic; and throwing up PIB Bill that robbed the owners of the black gold heavily.

These are what Buhari and his Fulani men are bent in doing. No creative vision since 2015 he came in. Busy also spending billionaires of Naira exploring non existing oil in the North. Dope failure in Japan Games would continue to hurt Nigeria under the watch of the so-called stainless man Buhari for a very long time to come.

The country is in a total mess right now. Nigeria brooks under this yoke of shame.  It is sad and our social media handles are on as usual. This absurdity remains unheard of. Keep shooting hard till next week. The struggle continues!
