Amaju Pinnick And Revolution Plus Romance: How Far Would It Benefit Football Development?

By Daily sports on June 28, 2021

Euro 2020 has so been exciting bringing out vividly the national traditional trappings that made the game number one across the globe. To be honest with you dear readers I have enjoyed the grills, thrills and frills that in great setting have associated with this beautiful,  money spinning round leather game that has brought the world as together as warring hostilities have had to observe cease fire for the respect and love of the game.

Euro 2020 kept me on and indeed most fans and we believe those greater good days ahead as the football summit continues.

However, if CAF would learn something new remains to be seen as we have witnessed more of learning nothing and forgetting nothing by the football governing body in the continent. The development of the game in Africa and her member countries have often been attributed to the mentality of people entrusted to oversee the game like their larger societies ruined by misgovernance all over the African countries.

African football has been backwards for instance since 1990 Cameroun reached the quarter finals in the World Cup no African country has near that or the same Cameroun improving.

It is the way we are. Nigeria that is supposed to be the leading light with her deeply and naturally talented footballers scattered all over the world sadly has led the pack from the back bench due largely to maladministration of the first order.

We have seen more of all motion no movement syndrome in Nigeria football administration system. As we snail like continue this nasty system methinks that there is urgent need to change the system and the working right otherwise the current unending damage already done to our football would continue to digress unless we truly go back to the drawing board.

The above leads us to the current moves by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) efforts in sourcing for sponsors.

The latest is Revolution Plus a property company. The ceremony heralding the company during a public media presentation last week in Lagos where the President of supposedly August body Amaju Pinnick told his audience that his team are doing all it takes to ensure that the nationals football in the country will graduate into having financial autonomy.

It rang bell and gladdened my heart but my take has been we have heard of that kind of sweet coated talks before and at the end of the day what is biting continues. It would be great if NFF finds its feet on that front but one doubt this move judging from the past.

The major problem facing the country in all facets has been implementation of laudable policies that have worked handsomely elsewhere but failed wholly in Nigeria. Amaju Pinnick has said but how far would this romance with Revolution Plus go.

Others of similar fanfare failed flat and nothing absolutely nothing has come out of it.

This columnist will as usual take this by Amaju Pinnick last week while presenting their newly found sponsor Revolution Plus with pinch of salt because it is their sing song. We have witnessed more of national funds going into private pockets in this country not NFF alone though.

It beats ones imagination that with all the moneys that come into the coffers of NFF the body still takes delight in owing its employees example is the foreign technical head Gernot Rohr Months long salaries which has no doubt reduced the will power of the Franco-German football coach.

What is currently happening in the national team the Super Eagles is so glaring whereby technical Director Augustine Eguaevon had to be drafted to train the NPFL players invited for the upcoming Mexico/Nigeria international friendly which Rohr is on the background.

We keenly watching and monitoring the sad development in the Super Eagles camp. The way and manner Amaju Pinnick is running football in the country no doubt leaves sour taste in the mouth.

He single handedly influenced the appointment of Rohr who was an outsider in the calculation of calibre of technical hands penciled down to employ to handle the high profile Super Eagles.

One hopes that whatever that has brought the present indifference between Rohr and NFF would be amicably resolved by first settling his Months long unpaid salaries only then we can take it from there. Therefore the present pretence that all is well within our football circle remains blunt lies as usually told by the idiots call leaders in this bloody country.

Daily Sports will keep bringing to the fore the ills that have become the silly and sorry sight of this country. Our social media handles are on 247. Keep shooting hard until next week as the struggle continues!!
