Pyramids Spank Enyimba, Casablanca And Orlando Pirates Share Spoils In CAFCC First-Leg Quarterfinals

By Daily sports on May 17, 2021

Pyramids FC claimed an emphatic 4-1 win over Enyimba in Sunday’s 2020-21 Caf Confederation Cup first-leg quarterfinal action.

The Egyptian club conceded within the opening minute of the match but fought back to claim a comprehensive victory in Cairo. Ibrahim Adel scored a brace for the hosts who have one foot in the final four ahead of next week’s reverse fixture in Aba.

Contonsport needed an 89th minute winner from Lambert Ariana to edge past ASC Jaraaf 1-0 in Garoua. The visitors were reduced to 10-men in the opening half of the match and almost held on for a draw, but Ariana volleyed home superbly on the cusp of full-time.

Raja Casablanca, who were so dominant in the group stages, came from behind to hold Orlando Pirates to a 1-1 draw in Soweto.

The Green Eagles netted a valuable away goal through Ben Malango on the hour mark following Vincent Pule’s opener at Orlando Stadium.

Elsewhere, record three-time Confed Cup champions CS Sfaxien suffered a shock 1-0 loss at home to JS Kabylie. Rida Bensayah scored the only goal of the game for the Algerian visitors.

The second-leg fixtures are set to take place next Sunday, 23rd of May.
