Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp isn’t ‘concerned’ about Sadio Mane’s form and is confident that the forward will get back to his best.
Mane, 29, has scored just seven goals in 28 Premier League matches this season and doesn’t look the player Reds fans have come accustomed to in recent seasons.
The Senegal international scored in back-to-back wins over RB Leipzig in the Uefa Champions League, but struggled in Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the quarter-final first-leg last week.
“We all know how good Sadio Mane is, what a player he is and what he did for us. But obviously the numbers scoring-wise are not great at the moment and he knows that,” Klopp told reporters when asked about Mane’s form of late.
“For a player with the mindset of Sadio, he wants to do extremely well. But this is the situation he is in. Each striker in the world knows these kinds of situations.
“I’m not concerned but I see it as well (that his form isn’t the best), it’s clear. We work on it. It’s the only answer I can give.”
Mane has scored 93 goals in 210 appearances for Liverpool.
