Watford look to have beaten Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to the signing of highly rated Granada forward Isaac Success.
The 20-year-old Nigerian is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Europe.
Watford and Granada are both owned by the Pozzo family and, while a deal has yet to be agreed, Success looks set for a move to Vicarage Road this summer.
Success has caught the eye in La Liga this season and scored six goals in a struggling side who are fifth from bottom. (standard.co.uk)
Granada is the club Odion Ighalo played for before he joined Watford, and the Pozzos have traditionally moved young players between their clubs.
Success has attracted interest from clubs in the Champions League but his agent, Dominic Egbukwu, said: “Granada are not releasing him to any other club except Watford.
"Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain have approached us. Plenty of teams want him.
“Watford and Granada are still negotiating. The wages are still being discussed. The only transfer fee Watford will have to pay is a 10 per cent sell-on clause to BJ Foundation Academy [his first club in Nigeria].”
Watford have struggled for goals in the second half of the season and Success could form a new partnership with Troy Deeney if Ighalo leaves this summer.
Ighalo could be on his way out of the club, with Watford expecting bids for their top scorer.
Success is likely to be selected by Nigeria for the Olympics in Brazil this summer which could delay his arrival beyond the start of the Premier League campaign.
Quique Sanchez Flores believes Success is suited to playing in the Premier League.
The Watford head coach said earlier this season: “He is a very good player. He has power and the physical characteristics to play in England.” (standard.co.uk)
