Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho produced a ‘fabulous technique’ for his goal against Burnley FC on Wednesday night.
This is according to Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers as his side came back to hold Burnley to a 1-1 draw in an English Premier League game.
Iheanacho was set-up by his Nigeria teammate Wilfred Ndidi and he netted a 34th-minute equalising goal at Turf Moor.
“It was a brilliant goal. It was a good move, we kept the ball well, and then Wilf makes a great pass,” Rodgers said on Leicester Mercury.
“It’s good movement from the two strikers, and then fabulous technique.”
Rodgers also explained why Iheanacho was substituted in the 67th minute and he admitted that another striker Jamie Vardy didn’t do much.
“It was just tactical. At the beginning of the second half, we were starting to get exposed on the sides, and for that, we needed to make the change to 4-3-3,” he added.
“Even though Jamie didn’t do much tonight, you would still back him to score if an opportunity came his way.”
Iheanacho has featured in 25 competitive matches for Leicester thus far this season – scoring six goals and provided three assists in the process. (African Football)
