Rangers International Football Club on Friday beat amateur clubside Olicon FC of Enugu 3-1 in one of their warm-up matches ahead of the new season.
Rangers’ Dauda Madaki opened scoring during the game played in Enugu in the 42nd minute, while Femi Ajayi made it 2-0 in the 49th minute.
Olicon FC reduced the tally through Elijah Okigbo in the 55th minute.
Chidiebere Nwobodo made it 3-1 in the 89th minute to ensure the Enugu-based Rangers maintained their dominance in the encounter.
Speaking after the game, Nwobodo said he was sure his team could do more in future games.
“As for the goal, it was a collective effort because we always play as a team and we can only get better,” he said.
Rangers had on Thursday defeated Nnewi United 1-0 in another friendly match played inside the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu. (NAN)
