Players Union writes club captains, gives deadline for election of players’ representatives

The National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANP) Players Union has written to all clubs captains in the country, requesting them to organise their players to elect a representative in NANPF National Administrative Council in accordance with the NANPF constitution.

In the letter routed through Club General/Team Managers, the Players Union gave April 22, 2016 as the deadline for compliance.

NANPF General Secretary, Comrade Austin Popo said in the letter dated April 11, 2016, a copy of which is in the possession of Daily Sports: “I write on behalf of the National Administrative Council of the National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANP) request you to organise your players to elect one of you as the club players’ representative in accordance with the NANPF constitution, please. 

“In view of the above, you are requested to forward the names, telephone number and email address of the player you have elected the General Secretary through sms or email to 08104035568/austinpopo2002@yahoo.com on or before 22nd April 2016.

“Please take note that the player elected could be the club captain or any other player.

“We look forward to your speedy response.”
