Sunshine Stars pip Enyimba to climb out of relegation zone

By Daily Sports on April 14, 2016

Sunshine Stars defeated Enyimba 2-1 in a rescheduled Week Three encounter played at the Akure Township Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Goals from Isiaka Oladuntoye and Okiki Afolabi helped the Owena Waves secure maximum points against their visitors as they climbed to the 16th spot with 11 points on the league log.

Oladuntoye headed the hosts ahead in eight minutes of the game before Chimas Akas leveled up few minutes later with a pile-driver.

Things got worse for the Aba Elephants as Ifeanyi Anaemena was given the marching order for a second caution.

With the game heading for a draw, Afolabi powered home the winner for Kayode Olujohungbe’s side with six minute left to play.

Sunshine welcome El Kanemi Warriors to the Akure Township Stadium on Sunday and a win for them will place them in the middle of the log.

Enyimba on their own part are 18th on the log with nine points from seven matches. (goal.com)
