Giwa sacks State FA's

By Daily Sports on April 13, 2016

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mr Chris ‎Giwa, has announced the sacking of the Chairmen of State Football Associations.

Mr Giwa, who said he has assumed the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as the President, said his action was on the ground that the election that produced them is an illegal one.

Addressing a news conference in Abuja, Mr Giwa said a new board led by him has assumed office following the judgment of a Federal High Court, which nullified the election of the Amaju Pinnick-led board of the Nigeria Football Federation.

He criticized those accusing him of taking football matters to court saying there are several cases where civil issues in the management of football had gone to regular courts with Egypt as the most recent where a court also sacked the football federation.

Mr Giwa added that the new board, under him, is out to restore the lost glory of Nigerian football, which according to him, has been in a “comatose state for many years”. (channelstv.com)
