Late top sports journalist, Prince Anthony Obaseki, would be buried in his native Benin City on November 26 or 27, 2020.
This was confirmed at the emergency family meeting held Wednesday in the family compound in the Edo State capital.
Obaseki’s eldest son Uyi revealed that it was a sad rendezvous with several family members still shocked by the tragic death of the Daily Sports Associate Editor and ex-Media Director of El-Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri.
According to the 19-year-old Uyi, who was invited to Benin for the meeting, it was an emotional meeting characterised with wailing and Lamentations.
Amidst tears, he said his mother and his two younger sisters remain terribly shattered since Obaseki’s death early Sunday morning at the 3H Hospital, DSC Township, near Warri.
Another round of family meeting will take place at the weekend while Uyi on behalf of the family prayed God to give them direction in this turbulent period.
