Nigerians To Watch In Action In Europe This Weekend

By Daily sports on October 3, 2020

EBERECHI EZE

The talented Eze made his first Premier League start in last week’s 2-1 defeat by Everton and he could be set for a first away start when the Eagles face underperforming Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Given the Blues’ struggles for balance, good performances and positive results so far this season, Eze and his teammates will fancy themselves against Frank Lampard’s men on Saturday afternoon.

Palace haven’t won at the Bridge since 2017 and this weekend represents their best opportunity to end that winless run, despite the talent present in Lampard side.

SEMI AJAYI

Ajayi featured in West Bromwich Albion’s 3-3 draw with Chelsea last time out, a game that will go down as the cliched game of two halves (The Albion threw away a first-half 3-0 advantage).

Even though the arrival of Branislav Ivanovic threatens the Nigeria central defender’s place in the side, the towering defender may keep his place when WBA travel to Southampton for their lunch-time kick-off on Sunday.

The Saints, having picked up three points at Burnley last week, will hope to record back-to-back victories which could take them to mid-table after the end of gameweek four.

SAMUEL CHUKWUEZE

After three successive starts in La Liga, Chukwueze was left out of the XI by Unai Emery against Alaves in midweek, a game the Yellow Submarine won 3-1.

The wideman could return for their clash at Atletico Madrid this weekend, looking to claim a positive result at one of the league’s top sides following last weekend’s meek surrender at Barcelona – they lost 4-0.

Diego Simeone’s troops scored six times in their opening game of the season at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium – vs a Granada side who were unbeaten at the time – and will look to inflict Villarreal’s second defeat of the season on Saturday afternoon.

VICTOR OSIMHEN

Despite failing to score in his first two games for Napoli, Osimhen has shown he’s a handful for Serie A defenders with his pace, movement and interplay all causing problems for Parma and Genoa.

He changed the game against the former and was instrumental in a 6-0 defeat of the latter last time out, still, the biggest test of the young striker’s short Serie A stay comes this weekend when Gli Azzurri travel to Juventus.

Gennaro Gattuso’s team may be unblemished after two games but visiting the Old Lady is a different kettle of fish and the side from Naples must be at their best to pick up a positive result in Turin.

SIMY

It hasn’t been the kindest return to the top flight for the towering striker, whose Crotone side have fallen to defeats in games against Genoa (4-1) and AC Milan (2-0).

The Pythagoreans face another daunting trip to Sassuolo this weekend, against Roberto De Zerbi’s attacking outfit who wiped the floor with new boys Spezia 4-1 on Sunday.

After a largely underwhelming start to the season, will Simy finally open his Serie A account at the Mapei Stadium? (Goal)
