GARBA MUHAMMAD, Kaduna
President of Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Comrade Ahmed Aigbona, Saturday, expressed sympathy for the former Deputy National President of the Association, Patrick Omorodion, over the death of his mother, late Mary Alegbe Omorodion.
“On behalf of all SWAN members across the country; affiliate of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), I sign this condolence message in solidarity of our former National Officer who recently lost his beloved mother.

The SWAN President said the exemplary leadership displayed and contributions of the bereaved Patrick Omorodion as Special Assistant on Media to a former Minister of Sports “is a product of late Mary Alegbe Omorodion, whom he always described as a good mother.”
“As we pray to God Almighty to give the family of the deceased the strength to bear the loss, we are also assuring you that all Sports Writers family are with you at a time of this grief,” Aigbona said. He urged the former SWAN leader and other family members not to be deterred by the death of their matriarch.
Late Mary Alegbe Omorodion, aged 90, passed away on April 11, 2020, and was buried on August 21.
