Emi Martinez has declared he intends to stay with Arsenal this new season.
The goalkeeper enjoyed a taste of an extended run in the first team at Arsenal last season after he came in for the injured Bernd Leno.
Martinez excelled as the new no1 and played a pivotal role as the Gunners won their 14th FA Cup.
Leno is now back from injury and manager Mikel Arteta faces a decision about who will be his first-choice goalkeeper for the new season.
But asked on The Big Interview podcast what his aims are, Martinez said: “Obviously [to] be Arsenal no1 and Argentina no1 for the Copa America.”
Aasked if he could help Barcelona and Argentina captain Leo Messi win the World Cup, Martinez replied: “I hope so.
“I will work my life for him. I will do everything for him. So if he really needs that, I will work." (Tribal Football)
