Papiss Cisse is reportedly nearing a move to Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas.
According to NTV Spor, the forward has been offered a two-year contract by the Black Eagles with the option of an additional year.
The 35-year-old is currently a free agent after scoring 26 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions for Alanyaspor in the 2019/20 season.
Cisse played an integral part in Alanyaspor’s run to the Turkiye Kupasi final which they lost 2-0 to Trabzonspor. The Senegal international scored a hat-trick in the club’s 4-0 semi-final second leg win but couldn’t help them to cup glory.
The Dakar-born forward really made a name for himself at SC Freiburg who he joined from FC Metz in 2010. Cisse joined Newcastle United in 2012 and spent four successful years on Tyneside before leaving for China.
Cisse’s former Magpies teammate Demba Ba won the Super Lig with İstanbul Başakşehir last season. Cisse finished only behind Alexander Sørloth in the run for the golden boot award. (African Football)
