Arsenal Step Up Partey Pursuit

By Daily Sports on July 29, 2020

Arsenal have reportedly upped their pursuit of Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.

According to Get French Football News, the North London club have offered Atleti €25 million and Matteo Guendouzi in exchange for the Ghana international.

The Gunners remain reluctant to trigger Partey’s €50 million release clause, but the Spanish club are not willing to let him go unless they do just that according to the report.

Partey is contracted to Atletico until 2023 and has been at the LaLiga club for the past eight years.

The 27-year-old has scored 16 goals in 185 appearances for Los Rojiblancos during this period and has established himself as an important member of Diego Simeone’s team in recent years.

Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly interested in Partey’s services.

Arsenal are eager to bolster their squad before the start of the 2020/21 campaign after finishing eighth in the English Premier League this past season. (African Football)
