Day Drogba, Mido Fight Shook The Plane — Coach

By Daily Sports on May 31, 2020

Former Olympique Marseille coach Jose Anigo has opened up about a fight between Ahmed Hossam Mido and Didier Drogba.

The two legendary African strikers were teammates at the French Ligue 1 giants during the 2003/04 campaign.

Mido and Drogba formed a deadly partnership as they helped Marseille reach the 2004 UEFA Cup final.

Marseille had eliminated Liverpool, Inter Milan and Newcastle United on their way to the final where they lost to Spain’s Valencia.

The team was coached by French tactician Anigo, who revealed that the fight broke out after Mido made strange jokes.

“We were coming back from a European Cup match, Mido had strange jokes,” Anigo said on King Fut website.

“He joked around with the air hostess, and Didier didn’t like it.

“He [Drogba] went for Mido, then things got heated. I can tell you that the plane moved. There were turbulences.”

Mido and Drogba left Marseille for AS Roma and Chelsea respectively at the end of the 2003/04 campaign. (African Football)
