Igali Dreams Super Eagles Treatment for Other Elite Athletes

By Anthony Obaseki on August 6, 2019

President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF), Hon. Dr, Daniel Igali, hopes to see the day when Nigeria’s elite athletes also benefit from the type of jumbo allowances and bonuses constantly splashed on the national football teams, especially the Super Eagles.

Igali made this known on his social media handle following the treatment meted to the Super Eagles based on their performance at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

The former World Champion said he is praying for other athletes to receive such amounts after making the country proud at the forthcoming All-Africa, Commonwealth or Olympic Games.

He said: “Silently Praying and hoping for the day a Nigerian Elite Athlete (not playing Football) will represent Nigeria at the Africa, Commonwealth or Olympic Games and come back home with allowances and bonuses totaling $10,000.”
