Premier League giants Chelsea have reportedly tabled an offer for Lille’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
The Super Eagles attacker is expected to be sold by Lille in the offseason after enjoying a fine first campaign in France’s Ligue 1.
Osimhen’s form has drawn attention from across Europe and Telefoot’s Abdellah Boulma, as reported by Tribal Football, has revealed that the Blues have put in a bid for the player.
Boulma claims that Chelsea have not put up a sum of “€85million” – as per some reports from around Europe. This comes just a week after Lille president Gerard Lopez claimed a €75million offer had arrived from an unnamed suitor.
Boulma wrote on social media: “The leaders of LOSC would have received an offer from Chelsea for the Nigerian international Osimhen. But the amount advanced of €85m is erroneous and greatly overestimated.”
The 21-year-old striker joined Lille from Belgian side Charleroi in August last year and racked up 13 goals and five assists in 27 Ligue 1 appearances – before the season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. (African Football)
