Liverpool Join United In Race For Koulibaly

By Daily Sports on May 2, 2020

UEFA Champions League holders Liverpool have reportedly joined the race to sign Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the English Premier League frontrunners have already contacted the Serie A club regarding Koulibaly’s availability.

The Reds are on the lookout for a defender to partner Virgil van Dijk and in Koulibaly Napoli boast one of the top defenders in Europe. Liverpool are reportedly open to selling Joel Matip in order to land the Senegal international who has attracted strong interest from several clubs.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are long-term admirers of the 28-year-old who has been named in the Serie A team of the season for the past four years.

Koulibaly has scored 10 goals in 233 appearances for Napoli and is contracted to the Italian club until 2023, but the Naples side are said to be open to the idea of selling their prized asset for the right price.

Another club said to be in the running for Koulibaly’s signature is Newcastle United who are set to enter newfound wealth due to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s proposed takeover of the club. (Tuttomercatoweb)
