Watford Join Race for Asamoah’s Signature

By Daily Sports on May 1, 2020

Watford have reportedly joined the race for Kwadwo Asamoah’s signature.

According to FC InterNews, the English Premier League club will battle Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce for the Ghana international.

Asamoah joined Inter Milan from Juventus in 2018. The versatile midfielder won six Serie A titles in his six seasons with the Old Lady before joining their Italian rivals at the expiry of his contract two years ago.

The 31-year-old, who made a name for himself in his three years with Udinese, has played just 11 times across all competitions this season with a knee injury keeping him sidelined for a huge part of the campaign.

Watford and Udinese are owned by the Pozzo family who are now reportedly keen on luring Asamoah to England.

Fenerbahce though are reportedly willing to match Asamoah’s Inter salary over a two-year contract and this could prove to be a deal breaker.

Asamoah has been capped 71 times by Ghana and played 270 Serie A matches over the course of his career. (African Football)
