Real Madrid Drop Sadio Mane Interest

By Daily Sports on March 31, 2020

Real Madrid have reportedly eased in their pursuit of Liverpool forward Sadio Mane.

According to the Express, the Senegal international isn’t their number one transfer target anymore.

Mane has reportedly dropped down the pecking order with Borussia Dortmund striker and 19-year-old Norwegian sensation Erling Haaland now their number one priority.

Real head coach Zinedine Zidane remains an admirer of Mane who has been in sensational form for the Reds over the last two seasons, but the Frenchman seemingly prefers Haaland who has scored 12 goals in his first 11 games for Dortmund.

Mane has scored 18 goals in 38 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions this season, while he has assisted a further 12.

The 27-year-old is the current African Footballer of the Year, having pipped club teammate Mohamed Salah to the accolade in January.

Mane played a crucial role in Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League win last season while he also spearheaded Senegal to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations final. (African Football)
