Man City Linked With Move For Boubacar Kamara

Premier League giants Manchester City are reportedly eyeing up Olympique Marseille’s French-Senegalese defender Boubacar Kamara.

According to the Sunday Express, the Citizens will test Marseille’s resolve in the transfer market when the next window opens.

Pep Guardiola’s side are in search of top central defenders to address an obvious weakness in their squad since the departure of Vincent Kompany at the end of last season.

Marseille fear a massive financial hit if the Ligue 1 season is terminated early due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the sale of Kamara, who is rated as one of the most promising defenders in Europe after breaking into the Marseille side three years ago, would go a long way in keeping the club afloat financially.

The defender is one of several players that Marseille are willing to off-load to the Premier League before the start of next season. The French club believes that Kamara is worth somewhere in the region of £28million.

The 20-year-old has represented France at junior levels, but his Senegalese heritage (his father hails from the West African country) means he remains eligible to play for the Teranga Lions. (UK Express)
