Champions League: Atletico Daze Defending Champions Liverpool

By Daily Sports on March 11, 2020

Liverpool’s hopes of defending their Champions League title were ended as they fell to a stunning last-16 defeat by Atletico Madrid.

After losing the first leg 1-0, Georginio Wijnaldum’s header brought Jurgen Klopp’s side level on the stroke of half-time at Anfield.

Roberto Firmino scored minutes into extra time before Marcos Llorente put Atletico ahead on away goals.

He then added another before Alvaro Morata sealed the win. (BBC)
