Enyimba Crash Out Of Caf Confederation Cup

By Daily Sports on March 9, 2020

Enyimba have been bounced out of the Caf Confederation Cup following a 2-0 defeat to Horoya on Sunday.

Goals from Bolaji Sakin and Boubacar Samassekou were all Lamine N’Diaye’s men needed to progress to the tournament’s semi-finals.

Fatai Osho’s team went into the tie staged at Conakry’s Stade du 28 Septembre needing an outright win to progress after a faltering 1-1 first leg result in Aba.

However, they were unable to curtail the attacking forays of red-hot Horoya as they went a goal down in the 27th minute.

Sakin curled the ball into the far post from the edge of the area after the visitors failed to deal properly with a corner.

Enyimba’s hopes of launching a comeback got dashed after defender Samassekou headed past Theophilus Afelokhai from Morlaye Sylla.

With this result, Horoya will lock horns with Hassania Agadir for a chance to reach the final. (Goal)
